XIX CHINAMAN (WITH ONE WHIST PACK) IN all essential principles, this game is identical with "The Harp," Game No. XXV (q.v.). It is played, however, with one pack instead of two, and seven columns are dealt out instead of nine. The rubbish-heap in this form of the game cannot be re-dealt. If two kings are
rivals for the same space (resulting from the clearing of a column), you are
allowed to look at the card below each, to see which king it will be more
advantageous to move, but a card once put into place may not be removed again.
It is a game which seldom comes out, as the only grace given is the taking of one
card from the bottom of the rubbish-heap, when the game is blocked. This grace
may set the game going again, after it has come to a standstill. EXAMPLE. |
